Solar powered hearing aids

01/24/2006 11:20 AM

It looks like people in the poorest nations will now be able to hear better thanks to a new solar powered hearing aid, which is actually a misnomer as it is a solar powered recharging dock for the hearing aid. Still it is a nice bit of technology for those who live where there are few places to get batteries or where there are no power lines.

Hmmm, how about solar powered pace makers?

Might be a bit tricky in places like the state of Washington, however.

Actually they will be getting hand crank powered lap tops that will be produced for about $100. I don't remember where I saw it but it's true!

Sounds like a great idea I used to design Cardiac Pacemakers!
