It's an animation based on reality with omission of some things for clarification making it easier to understand the mechanisms at work inside a leaf...

If you go further deep, all reactions are either transfer of an electron or sharing . When it comes to that stage of brilliance, when these electron transfers could be done by humans, the world would be either Utopia or Valhalla !
