One is reminded of the mandated THIRD TAIL LIGHT scam, wher untold millions were made by the dreamer who lobbied to make it a "law".^{american suckers}

Tyre pressure monitors have been around for a while and most expensive cars have them fitted...

They can be made for peanuts especially if billions are needed, anyway I guess it won't be a retro-fit question more of all new cars will need them, I guess?

These devices "may" have some benefits, but the average dick-head probably not know what to do if a warning sound. In Australia, there are only a (literal) handful of service stations that will check you tyres for you. I can see this being disabled like so many seat-belt warning devices were.
