11/04/2007 11:22 AM

Good Day!

I am in search of a tea bag making machine that is portable or small enough to fit my small business. I am interested in making my own sealed herbal tea bags. Therefore, I would like to know if there is a machine I can purchase that will serve this purpose for my tea business. I would appreciate it if you could give me the name of the machine and other pertainent information.

If you know of the company I should be contacting for help, please advise me.

Thank you and I hope you can help me in my quest. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

You are welcome -- and should I every be in Philly, I'll stop by (am in Southern California.)

Speaking of which, there is a tea that has grown quite popular out here called Pirate's Chai, have you heard of this? People wait in line to buy a cup with all the typical Chai accouterments. Am thinking it has some kind of habit forming narcotic onboard.

Good luck with your new business!

Question:

Would tea bagging machines provide a practical means for packaging an chemical adsobent such as iron oxide for use in single container removal of arsenic from water?

I would like a paper cover. I was trying to explain in the message that later I would like to use a foil outside tea bag covering, therefore, the machine should be adaptable. If I must have just one paper grade.....then paper will be the specification. I am new to this so if I am not explaining this correctly please bare with me. Thank you for your quick response. Also what is the price of this machine?

What I understand is you will initially have outer envelope in paper and later you would like to adapt the machine to use foil outer cover.

Please also specify inner material? do you have any specification for the material & bag size. Do you also need tag for each inner bag?

How many bags per minute do you need?

20-100 tea bags per minute? heat sealed inner paper crimped sealed on all 4 sides. regular sized tea bags that loose cut herbs and cut bark can be mixed with black, oolong, green, white, etc. for a custom bag blend 1-3 grams content, string and tag. An voltage for the machine....not over 220 amp... regular house electric line

I hope you meant 220 volt and not amp as household current mains are typically 220 amp.

Sorry the smart ass in me just came flying out.

What a great thread.

I have a coffee maker that I love (Sensei) as it makes single cups fast and delicious. Even crappy coffee tastes good with this machine. However, I am limited to the types of coffee available and have been wanting to package my own efficiently with a little hand press and a bagging material.

Perhaps Eulance can fill a void there too!

Best of luck to you in your venture.

I will give it some thought. but I think someone has come up with that idea already. Theymake square and round coffee bags. hard pressed. I don't really drink coffee so I can't tell you who.
