Locked for Private Messages

Since there seems to be a dearth of current topics, I'll see if I can get a response...

I've been active on CR4 for a decade and a half, and used to send and receive private messages once in a while. But for some reason, I've been locked out of them for some time, perhaps a year.

I don't believe I've ever sent any message, public or private, that would be considered offensive to a reasonable person.

I have sent emails to several different CR4/Globalspec email addresses, but have never received a reply to any of them.

Any suggestions?

I get the same thing as Rixter...check that your email is correctly written...make sure no spaces or anything....

If still no joy contact... Hush....

None of the emails I've sent, including the one I sent to the address you gave me a couple of weeks or more ago, have been undeliverable.

I do make a lot of mistakes while typing, and am in the habit of re-reading everything I type. I'm pretty sure I used copy-and-paste to avoid any typing errors when I tried that last email address you provided.

That message shown in Rixter's post says to fix the problem, but it gives no indication on how to go about fixing it...

I'll go right now and take another look at my profile, to see if I can find anything I've missed on previous attempts.

I looked all over my Account, and reviewed the rules, including the messaging rules, and couldn't find anything I could change, except possibly the password on my email. I keep getting the CR4 announcements in my email, so clearly CR4 has the correct password, if one is required to send me emails.

The one thing I did see is rule #2, that everything must be in English. Some years ago, I do remember seeing at least a couple of posts in Spanish, and I'm sure I responded to at least one of them in Spanish. I presume that's not enough reason to block my personal messaging...

I'm getting my email in Apple's Mail program on a Mac. I used to know how to set/change the passwords for email accounts, but they've changed the preferences dialog boxes, so I don't see where to do it now. I'll investigate that further.

Apparently, I didn't read your entire email the first time I saw it; I didn't see that you had sent an an email to Hush. Thanks! No results yet, that I'm aware of.

And thanks to you, Rixter and PWSlack, for trying to send messages.

Since there have been few posts recently, I thought there might be a higher probability that one of the admins would see and react to this thread, but so far, I've heard/seen nothing.

Just a thought, but are you using a work or personal email on this account? Could your work IT have it blocked or your @"domain name" been black listed by Engineering360?

Interesting thought! I get notifications at both email addresses, so CR4/Globalspec has both of them, and they both work. but my Account settings list only the personal one, which is where I prefer to get everything.

Due to Covid, I've been working remotely for over a year now, and haven't been to the plant in all that time. I'll have to check with the IT folks...

Bizarro messages

I had not received the cr4 digest page for almost 2 weeks so ;

On January 15th at 10: 10 am I sent an email message to cr4.

Dear sirs : for some reason I am not receiving the cr4 page. My screen name is Tonyhemet. My email is ( ) . Can you look into this. Thank you, Tony

Two days later at 3 : 19 a.m., I received a message from Wendy Nigro :

Hi Tony, Due to a change in software, the cr4 digest is no longer sent out.

Two days later I started to receive the cr4 digest page again and have been ever since.

Thanks Tony! I did indeed send an email to that address just after noon Pacific time, but I got a PM from Solar Eagle one hour later (and was able to send a PM back), so I suspect his communication to Hush is what solved the problem. I must confess that I don't know who or what Hush is...
