Foams

11/15/2007 11:53 AM

I am wondering whether anyone from the CR4 group can direct me to the name, etc. of some classical texbooks on foams. I am not interested in general information, but rather specifics on how to deal with transport phenomena calculations (heat, mass and momentum transfer) in systems containing foaming components.

I am looking for is solutions that are "frothing" rather than perhaps true foams.

I guess an example would be when draining a clothes washer containing soaps water.

if it is water based look up detergency and froth

it is all surface chemistry or surfactant technology

http://www.stepan.com migh be of help if you are looking detergent type formulas

i guess if you have a froth problem -- there are other surfactants that break the surface tension and allow the foam to collapse
