Any paint and corrosion products will eventually end up in the potassium chlorate, with product quality implications. Use plastic vessels instead.

Hello Guest,

I have done a lining in a tanker for potassium chlorate, I use a baking phenolic paint. But before doing any recommendations, I need to know more information:

Service temperature?

Are these storage/ transfer tanks? for liquid or solid form? concentration?

What kind of tank? Carbon steel? Stainless? New tank or an old tank?

Are you able to do an SSPC-SP10 (Nace 2 or Sa2.5) for surface preparation? Shop application or job site?

Depending your answers, more questions coming up!

Cheers,

Are you from a 3rd world organization? Can this chemical be used in a bomb?

"Can this chemical be used in a bomb?". It sure can Andy. In fact it's fairly well described as an explosive in Wikipedia with little use for anything else except in Finland where they use it in pest extermination. "Look dear, it's working, another rat just blew up!"

I Suggest:

  1. Register and identify yourself (cc: CIA)
  2. use the spel sheker.
  3. once done, don't use too short a fuse.

Wangito.
