North Miami Beach Condo Evacuation

In the light of the Surfside building collapse, a condo in North Miami Beach is being evacuated. A structural engineering report from January 2021 states the structure is unsafe.

I wonder if we will see more of these evacuation orders in the near future.

in light of these events, I can imagine that the prices on condos in these older buildings are probably taking a huge hit.

As well as condo maintenance fees will be going through the roof with the enforcement of safety codes being made.

Based on my experience with developers, I'd say many buildings have been in need of repairs for years.

This lack of oversight is typical today.

It has an influence, but to what extent of good or bad that really is not known.

The US Census states the populous there is 38% of Hispanics, considering the location is not surprising or the effects. The condo initially appear to be quite affluent.
And saying anything about that this has any effect is only speculation.

Well, there is the obvious fact that saltwater and metals don't get along well together.

Using brackish water for mixing concrete wouldn't affect the strength of the concrete, but steel reinforcement would rust, expand, and crack the concrete allowing more salt to enter.
