Mysterious Object

08/03/2021 5:03 AM

While cleaning out the storage shed after my recent divorce, I found this thing (picture). It looks like some kind of drink machine. My ex didn't drink. I hate to throw away something that may have some value.

What is it?

To fit the flux capacitors into a Delorean you have to use that instead of a traditional flat bus bar. It's pretty ingenious actually. The shape both allows the compact stowage of numerous flux capacitors and provides the optimum logarithmic impedance transformation allowing acceleration up to and beyond the speed of light.

There was one of these stolen from the Project Blue Book display at the Wright Patterson AFB museum last year. Do you have all the proper paperwork to prove that this is legally yours? You may want to keep an eye in the rear view mirror for a while.

No worries. I'm sure the men in black suits with sunglasses will believe you. They're very understanding.

I've met them before. They interviewed me because I asked for the vapor pressure of liquid natural gas. They said it was a national security secret. And from the answers I got on here, I think they were right. But they were polite and respectful.

If you've ever worked behind a bar in the UK you will recognise that it is a device used to dispense accurate measures of spirits.

You put the 'optic' (the assembly with the transparent chamber) into the neck of a bottle, invert it and clamp the bottle upside down in the holder. The one you show can hold 4 bottles. The clamp is usually spring-loaded so that you can push the base of the bottle against the rubber pad and then drop the shoulder of the bottle into a yoke.

The optic fills with an accurate measure of spirits that is dispensed by pushing the rim of a glass upwards against two prongs. The optics in the picture are a little different to ones I have come across having curved prongs whereas I'm used to seeing two horizontal prongs to push up against.

I think it's a multi-tap for a beer keg, just my guess.

A close up pic of the bottom of the base would be helpful,as would a close up pic of the accessories on the table.

It looks similar to a bottling machine. It fills to just below the cap. Something like this is used to fill wine bottles and beer bottles in low small batch runs. But it would work for sauce or any other water based liquid like home made soda etc.
