Rotational speed of an electric screw jack

08/17/2022 8:47 AM

Is the rotational speed or translational travel speed of an electric screw jack always be a constant value in both loading or unloading conditions?

It will be if the motor can be driven at a constant speed regardless of the torque requirement.

For instance, if a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is driven by an inverter (motor drive) and it can be programmed to operate at a constant RPM (within the torque limitations of the motor of course), then yes, the screw jack speed will be constant.

An AC induction motor speed varies somewhat over no-load to full-load conditions.

For a PMSM is driven by an inverter and it can be programmed to operate at a constant RPM, is the power consumption will be affected by loading or unloading?
