What Kind of Tape is This?

I have been around electronics and audio equipment for nearly 45 years, BUT.....

I've never seen a tape like this. Saw in an antique/second hand/junk shop.

Tape is about 6in X 9in (15cm x 23cm) and magnetic tape was just .25in (0.5cm) wide. Possible use in radio station??

It was used for music media, between reel-to-reel and eight track tapes...didn't last long...

One thing that was told to me, magnetic storage devices, like floppy disks and tape was that the storage needed to be ‘refreshed’. Found some things about this…
