Making 'tinplate' and 'silver-plate'.

Tinplate has numerous applications where a thin sheet metal having corrosion resistance better than steel is required. It bends easily and solders well. It is not unknown for model makers to use this material.

Silver-plate is usually applied to thicker base metals. One use of silver-plate is for tha manufacture of decorative tableware; it can be manuafactured at a fraction of the value of solid silver.
