Kern Scales

01/31/2008 7:54 AM

Does anyone have any experience with KERN scales? I plan to purchase type FEJ 33K0.1, measuring range 33 kg with reproducibility 0,1g.

Would you recommend one for use in batch polymerization?

I had not experience with KERN but I had one with Sortorius and I suppose it's something like. You have to realize that repeatability is far not the same the accuracy.

If real accuracy equal 0,1x3 or even 0.1x5 g would satisfy you. It's ok you can purchase these scales.

As I could understand you are going to use scales for monitoring(control) of polymerization process.

I wish you every good luck.

I don't know much about KERN scales, but i did do some business with www.diamondscale.com and they know what they are talking about.. I'd suggest maybe giving them a call before making any purchases.

hope this helps :)
