Isolator

02/14/2008 2:18 AM

Hi,

I need isolator for 0-5 DC volt and output is linearity. It is in working on the LED.

Please, send me shcematic for LED.

Regrads,

LEDs require a series resistance to limit the forward current when fed from a 5VDC stabilised supply. The value of the resistor is determined by working out the voltage to be dropped, which is the difference between the supply voltage and the LED's junction voltage, and dividing it by the maximum forward current. That gives a minimum resistance. As it is not good practice to run an LED at ist maximum forward current, one then increases the value of the resistance to allow for a safety factor, be it 25%, 50% or whatever.

A suitable isolator might be a simple on/off toggle switch in the 5V circuit feeding the LED, perhaps?

How about a relay. Perhaps an optoisolator chip.
