Friday Fun: Cryptozoology Question

05/26/2006 2:30 PM

About.com is asking students of cryptozoology to participate in the following poll:

Which creature do you think has the best chance of being proved real:

1. Bigfoot
2. The Loch Ness Monster
3. El Chupacabra
4. Elves
5. Fairies
6. Thunderbirds
7. Living Dinosaurs

Skeptics, however, might like to see an eighth option: "It's all bunk".

El Chupacabra

I voted for El Chupacabra. The elusive "goat sucker" goes where people are and is therefore the most likely to be shot and killed. The other critters (if they exist) don't need a steady diet of farm animals.

7. Living Dinosaurs
Lets face it, it's easier to think that there might be something in a deep jungle we have never been before where the climate hasn't changed than anything else on that list.

Oh come on. "Thunderbird" is the native american name for, I believe, the giant condor. And birds, especially chickens, are living dinosaurs.

Fairies? What about PC? Is it now O. K. to say things the way you want to say them?

They do exist!

1. Bigfoot......last seen at the Monster Truck Show.
2. The Loch Ness Monster.....Aye, an' ye be a dirty Lowlander, or a cursed English if ye dinna believe in Nessie! There ha' been plenty o' photos o' the auld gal. Whae canna ye not believe?
3. El Chupacabra.....The new menu item at Taco Bell.
4. Elves....There are many Elves sightings every year, but he doesn't stick around to talk to anyone.
5. Fairies....New York and San Fran are full of them, just watch QESG on TV to see the Fab 5 in action! OH, not THAT kind? Ok, Tinkerbelle is the only REAL one I have ever seen, but she did look a LOT like Julia Roberts!
6. Thunderbirds....Not those silly TV puppets, the real Thunderbirds are the US Air Force Aerobatic Demonstration Team based at Nellis AFB, NV. Coming to an airbase near you soon!
7. Living Dinosaurs....Barney, BJ, and Baby Bop, 'nuff said!
