We can reflect it off of bhankiii's tin foil hat bounce it off of Jupiter, focus it so that it burns a rope that is holding back a spring powered bowling ball cannon that will shoot a mouse trap that will strike a lighter that will light the fuse on a fire cracker that will explode and release a bow that will fire an arrow at an asteroid, that will set its orbit off causing it to graze the really really big gun causing it to fire back at the mysteriously agressive space thingy...

Talking about possible threats to the Earth, I heard yesterday that the Sun is due to have a major flare up in 2011 that could cause some major problems! If we use that flare up, and reflect it of B's tin foil hat in the general directing of the space thingy, then maybe, just maybe we will survive to fight another day!

geez, good morning all. Ya know, the Mayan calender ends in 2012, perhaps because of this very ray gun. I watch the Discovery channel too (doom, gloom, if an astroid don't get you a super volcano will, or perhaps global warming, or the gulf stream will shut down, or that bomb they lost of the coast of one of the Carolinas is going to go off, and the sun is going to go super nova, and if Clinton steals her way in, there will be riots in the streets, etc, etc, ad nausium).

Droll! For those that don't get it, that's one hell of a ray gun. You'd probably need to consume the entire planet in a nuclear event to get enough energy even to move the angle of the beam so it misses the Earth (assuming it's pointing at us now).

Now, how about one of you geniuses designing a high-altitude ozone generator to sort the problem instead?

Hey, Case solved it in post #1. We are all going to send the women's compact cases to a central location so the massive mirror can be erected. We expect the project to be completed by the end of April 2008.

I guess Case's wife has X-ray eyes? and mirrors to match. The central location would presumably cover the entire area of the solar system
and I'm real thrilled to know that we'd be able to marginally modify the supernova about 8000 years after it extinguished animate life on Earth.

That is an interesting point. Has anybody designed a gamma ray mirror? I'm not turning anything up on google.
