Low Pressure / Low Volume - Venturi Spraying

03/20/2008 12:27 AM

Can anyone point me to a manufacturer of small (1/4" diameter x 1 or 1 1/2" long) venturi nozzles. I would like to use this item for spray misting the surface of a part durrng lathing. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Sorry, been there - done that, not that easy when you need low pressure (<20psi) and low volume (1 ltr/ 24 hours). If someone else has any direction, I would like to hear from you.

Thanks Again,

Chris

Hi Chris, Try a small pen like spray gun which is used by artists for painting for art.It is connected to mini compressor. These pens are Japanese made and compressor is Taiwan make. I had used both in Mumbai,India for industrial application. If you cant get in your country then I will send you more details. Try at Artist material store.

Hi,

get a nozzle (the smalles available) from an oil-burner for heating houses.

May be your pressure is too low.

I have tried one for water spraying with 4 times your pressure and it gave 5l/h.

If this is too much, then let the spay hit a plate (not too large ) so that only small mist-droplets are carried around th eplate and most are on the plate and flow down again to the reservoir.

We use this for sprays in precision micro-grinding and ultraprecision machining.

http://www.spray.com/ will likely have what you need, alternatively you can find some choice at McMaster
