Debunking the "water-for-gas", "free energy" and perpetual motion nonsense once and for all.

Although that might be an idea. At the end of many days, I could easily electrolyze water with my socks (or euthanize herds of feral rabbits in Australia). So, I have only to soak my socks, gather the gases, ignite them, heat water to run a small turbine, and VOILA! Free energy.

It would have to be a hell of an idea, (such as Mr Vader's) or they'll just blow it up with as much explosive they can find!

On the semi-contrary to PlbMak's take, I think we should come up with a suggestion which hinges entirely on the utterly insanely excessive use of explosives:

  • Extinguishing a volcano. Hey...the Professor did it on "Gilligan's Island"!
  • Atom Bomb Survivability. Do white coveralls really protect you?
  • Noticibly changing the Earth's rotation and/or orbit. How much TNT does it take?
  • Big Bang 2. Can Adam & Jamie create their own universe?

Why do ducks need tape? Unless, of course, to survive a nuclear blast

"Why do ducks need tape? Unless, of course, to survive a nuclear blast."

Why do ducks have flat feet? From stomping out forest fires.

Why do elephants have flat feet? From stomping out flaming ducks.

So, Q.E.D., ducks may need tape to survive flames of other sorts.

I submitted a suggestion to debunk the deeply ingrained in engineering lore 'black paint keeps things cool' myth.

Unfortunately, its either not TV worthy, or they don't think its a myth.

I have always been intrigued by the thought that your pipes cannot freeze as long as you leave a faucet dripping.

I know moving water is not supoposed to be able to freeze but I have seen a lot of river frozen up on the edges and skin over the top.

Just a thought.

'I know moving water is not supoposed to be able to freeze but I have seen a lot of river frozen up on the edges and skin over the top.'

A reaction is the presence of the movement of cold air.

In a pipe the air is in the water and it does work and bumble bees.

How about that list of nonsense claims I get every couple of weeks that always ends with, "and nobody knows why."

Y'all know the one I'm talking about. It usually starts with, "Duck quacks don't echo, and nobody knows why."

It's probably the most circulated bunch of internet claptrap that there IS! Please, SOMEBODY, put a stop to it!

Placing a wooden clothes pin on the fuel line prevents air pockets eliminated fuel starvation.

"Placing a wooden clothes pin on the fuel line prevents air pockets eliminating fuel starvation."

Would (wood) the old-fashioned deeply-notched one-piece ones work? Or does it have to be the kind with the two wooden pieces and a torsion spring that also serves as the pivot? Does the handedness of the torsion spring make a difference (left-handed for northern hemisphere, right-handed for southern, say)? If the plastic version will also work, what color is best?

Hey - if you're going to start a myth, you might as well provide enough detail that it SOUNDS like it has actually been tested!

The two piece with spring is preferable due tension applied when attached to the metal fuel line as it makes the bend over the front lip of the intake manifold.
