Help File?

03/29/2008 8:01 PM

Is there a more extensive help file than the FAQ's?

Thanks Chris, for the prompt reply

I was trying to make a new blog entry. I hadn't done 1 for a while & couldn't find the info using search. I stumbled on the solution when I went to the blog index & clicked on my blog.

I don't have a problem, I was just wondering after doing a few searches.

You should also see links to your blog on your Profile page.

What is it you would like to do? If you just want a quick way to get to your blog then I would suggest adding it to your browser as a "quick link" (drag url icon from Address bar to the toolbar, for example) or something like that.

I was having brain fade earlier [yesterday]

I made my new blog entry {Links]

I'm wondering If I can keep it as the 1st entry. I assume I can edit as we start new threads & add them to the list. I hope to use the newest entry for a table of contents. On other forums certain threads are kept above new threads things like FAQ's, common questions........usually described as a sticky. This is what my last post refered too.

thanks for the work space, We're still moving ahead, but these things take time.

Ah, I think I see where you are going.

Here are some options that might be easier to maintain:

  • Don't worry about linking to the other blog entries in this blog (although the "founding" blog entry might be cool)... tell users about the list of recent blog entries in the nav (upper-right), or to the "Show All Blog" entries link at the bottom of the page (which you could copy and use in your list of links, if you wanted to)
  • You can tag blog entries or threads on CR4 with a special tag of your choosing (option appears near the Reply button typically), and once you pick a tag ("APIX"?") should could link people to a page that shows all things tagged with that tag. (The Site Search has a feature to do tag searches).
  • FYI, your blog also has a list of "Links" in that you, as an admin for the blog, can edit. This is often called a "blog roll", and these links will appear in the right-hand nav on any blog-related page. So you could create a small set of links and put them everywhere easily.

I think the tagging of threads will be the most useful suggestion I have for you; the blog roll could be handy too, esp with a link to the tag search results.

Thanks
- Mark
