fet stands for Field Effect Transistor

mosfet stands for Metal Oxide inSulated Field Effect Transistor.

So that's your answer. (I might have got the mosfet one mixed up but its close enough!!)

Actually MOSFET is acyronm for "metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor".

Hmmmm maybe a bit of 'dumbing down' could be useful for the OP...
