04/11/2008 11:18 AM

Can anyone help me with information on how to reduce the pressure on an Aquamatic submersable pump that is installed in a fountain. The present pump runs of a 1/2 Hp motor and is spaying water outside of the pool. need to control the pressure.

Install a adjustable hand valve to the outout line from the pump. It won't hurt the pump, and it will use less electricity because it will be turning slower.

Thanks, but the discharge of the pump is floating fust on the surface. Doing so will remove the looks of the water emerging from the surface of the pool.

Then change the nozzle at the discharge. Everything is a compromise.

A larger discharge hole will reduce the pressure.

Or install a variac or dimmer switch to control the power to the pump.

If you cant fit a valve you can try an orifice and increase the diameter of the nozzle / outlet. this will reduce the velocity and distance of spray.

I photo might help.

I don't know the product but skimming the impeller or removing a stage of a multi stage may also help.

1/2 Hp seems a bit big for a fish pond.

Thanks,

These are great options. I have been trying to get the site of the manufacturer, but to no avail.

Drill small holes in the pressure line below the water line going to the fountain. Very small holes and as may as it takes to reduce the pressure.

t is necessary to install a valve of regulation or to envisage a circuit return
