Blower delivery calculation

iamhaving a blower which is fitted with 7,5 hp motor 550 mm impeller 50 mm thik 8 blades welded on the impeller running at 2880 rpm what is the CFM 1 want to modify the blower to 3500 cfm what should i do

Hi,

550 mm means OD or ID ? CFM is a function of ID (inlet area) and RPM ,lead angle(blade angle with tangent of inlet cicle) .for increase the flow you should increase the speed or increase the id of impeller .but your case speed increase is not possible as already it is high.hence you change the fan.dont go for alteration once you know through knowledge

The first thing to do is pick up the 'phone, and then talk the proposal through with the original equipment manufacturer.
