How to improve power of a sinusoidal wave???????

04/15/2008 11:28 AM

Dear fellows! I want to design an inverter(from DC to AC). I have done this by using 555 timer. The problem is this I get only a few miliamperes of current. How I can improve Wattage of this inverter? Rply as early as possible plz!!!!!1

How much output power are you looking for? What is the load?

"....Reply as early as possible plz!!!!"

So you reply within 12 minutes and nothing is heard from the OP for over 3 hours.... I don't think it was that urgent afterall...??

saeed; how do you get a sine wave from a 555 timer chip?

I am assuming the sine wave is simulated by varying the duty cycle of a higher frequency square wave. To increase the current and/or voltage you can run the output from the 555 into an amplifier. No one can suggest a good amplifier for your purpose without knowing; the switching frequency, the sine wave frequency, the input amplitude, the output amplitude, the desired output voltage and the desired output current.

You may want to condition the switched signal before boosting it with an active filter made from op-amps, that will help minimize the unwanted harmonics.

I used 741 chip to get sine wave. 555 timer just gave a square wave.
