How about "Process Systems Analalysis and Control", by Coughanowr & Koppel?

Hi there,

I have found that the best books you can get on the subject are - The Instrument Engineers Handbook, parts 1 - 4.

Part one deals with measurement and part two with control. I have used these books from my student days for studying and still use them to this day for reference (many years down the line!)

There are also many free booklets that you can download from the net for calculations - Fischer Control Valve handbook being one of them.

There are also various freeware packages that you can get from most manufacturers for valve sizing and material strength etc. I must stress that you should only use these packages as a reference for your original calculations.

Another good refernce book to have is Perry's Chemical Engineers Handbook. This is very good for understanding the process type and for working out your control base.

Kind regards

Craig
