Very Human Looking Robots

08/03/2006 10:08 AM

Interesting weblog find. This site chronicles the five most human-looking robots. Video or images of each can be viewed there. The overall look and responses of the robots are are getting close to human, but their jerky motion still gives them away. Perhaps that's best. We don't want replicants running around, do we?

Robot #2

It's too bad that they programmed her with a bad attitude. I expected her to smack the guy. I'm also curious about the inclusion of #3. A pantomime of a female walking does not make a robot more human.

I'm glad all the robots in real life will stop looking like metal skeletons. I will be nice more human looking robots around.

Maybe next they can get rid of that annoying humming sound on our flying cars.

Humanoids

It would be nice if they could combine number one with number three. It looks as if number one can't walk, with her sitting or leaning on that stool the whole time. I personally think that the only way to make machines that can do the things we don't want to do is to make them as close to us in form as possible. Although I still don't know if that's such a good idea. Many of us are already too lazy.
