piping engineering- pressure temperature rating

how we calculate pressure temperature rating for piping element? explain with an example.

In my opinion, we should first tabulate the operaating/design temp and pressures of all the lines in the system. The worst combination is used to choose the rating from the pr-temp rating tables given in ASME B16.5 for flanges. eg if the worst presure in your system falls in the table for 150# in ASME B16.5, the rating of your syste m is 150 or else go hiegher.

Normally this information is tabulated, and just needs looking up in the appropriate reference standard at selection time.

Reinvention of the proverbial wheel is rarely necessary.
