Tests on generators

Request forum members to pl. let me know what are the tests to be done on large generators driven by steam turbines at the site before commissioning and also to ensure performance is as committed.Any ref. would be appreciated.My google search did not yield satisfactory results

This is a turnkey contract, isn't it? If so, then the original equipment manufacturer's commissioning procedure should be followed. The procedure should contain all the information on the testing needed and the criteria for performance testing. Check the contract documentation.

Refer to National Electrical Testing Association (NETA) specifications as guideline..

As previous stated mfg. of generator will provide full details of which tests are recommended..

Thanks a lot.However what I wanted to know was apart from the agreed tests to prove performance there must be other tests which are mandatory before commissioning.Any reference to this will be appreciated.Also when the efficiency is evaluated at various loads do the field losses to be taken into account?
