How to Install New Software if Forgotten Administrator Password

I think if you start up Windows in 'safe' mode then you will have full administrator rights.

Just press F8 during start up and select 'safe mode'

If I'm wrong someone will correct me... I'm not even sure you mean windows?

If you won't be capable to install new software as some of packages can't be installed under Safe Mode. Go to control panel and give your current user account an administrative privileges,i.e. make user an Administrator. You can else to change the administrator password there which you never forget further. Reboot and enjoy.

I meant that if you start up Windows in safe mode you will automatically have administrator priviliges.

So start in safe mode and asign your user name with administrator status and choose a new password...

Then restart and your user name will be back to normal with admin status and a new password.
