What about increasing the height of the stack so as to induce more natural drafting?

What will happen if I try it?

Remember....induced draft was not designed when the stove was designed..........so of course they gave you that answer.

The lengthened stack will accomplish the same thing....but before you do that....check the total stack system above the firebox for soot/carbon build up...even small accumulations will have an impact...reducing velocity/volume transiting the vent.

The danger...minor...of the induced draft will create a hotter fire and may burn out the firebox if un lined. Reason? more fuel burn/higher heat/same radiation area to dissipate same.

The 200 scfm air flow of the new Induced draft fan is double the 100 scfm of the forced draft fan needed for the snowflake 2100. Unfortunately, the Snowflake does not have a method of precisely adjusting the combustion air flow except properly selection of the combustion fan output. There is no "air flow adjustment screw" available on Snowflake stoves.

The $300 per IDF is also near double the cost of a 100 scfm IDF for the snowflame 2100.

The option to purchase a properly sized IDF for the snowflame 2100 is fully discussed on the cornstove website. The price of a properly sized 100 scfm IDF for the snowflame 2100 is approx $165 plus shipping. For details please visit www.groups.yahoo.com/group/cornstoves
