The White House has released a chilling report on the
effects man-made "catastrophic" global warming will have on the United
States.
It's
the end of the United States as we know it -- or is it? The White House
report is said to be based on available science, and it calls for
dramatic increases in disease, heat-related deaths, water shortages,
extreme weather, and wildfires by the end of the century. All the
destruction is being blamed on global warming.
However, Joe Bastardi, the senior meteorologist with AccuWeather.com,
says the report seems to be based more on hysterics than real science.
"I'll tell you what, we've got some people [who] seem to be wanting to
play God here with their predictions -- and it will be very interesting
to see [in] the next 10 to 15 years if this has anything to do with
reality," says Bastardi. "I never would have dreamt 20 years ago, even
10 years ago, that the debate would get like this where people are
literally saying America's going to change and we're all this and that."
The meteorologist reminds people that even though there is always going
to be adverse weather conditions, anything that goes wrong is going to
be blamed on global warming by climate alarmists. "I don't care where
you are in the climate cycle, you're going to have things go wrong with
the weather from time to time," he says.
For example, Bastardi says that the recent rash of deadly tornadoes was
due to cooler May temperatures and not alleged global warming. He says
the tornadoes were spawned by cooler than average air to the northwest
colliding with warm air from the south -- a similar weather pattern
that also spawned the active May tornado season of 2005.....">
