I bought an HP Pavilion that apparently runs on some clunky program. When I loaded the Recovery Discs that came with it, load ends with / flashing slash, as if there is Dos command required to continue to load the next two of the three discs that I got with the purchase from the neighbor who moved back to Istanbul.
There is no normally from my experience, an understandable way to complete the revival of this machine. I see no message on the package of discs that says there is a Dos code, but it sure acts as if there is one.
My E Machine is dead, my other Workstation HP is dead, the Pavilion was intended as a stopgap spare backup, and we are getting a little done with the Q4 MAC.
Truthfully, I think it wise to have a PC and a Mac in the house, though I have an opportunity to buy for a good price another Mac. My website is in trouble because the Microsoft internal email thing goes to hell everytime a computer breaks.
