Tempest in how big a teapot?

08/05/2008 1:34 PM

What nannering bean counter thought this one up? You will evenutually realize enougn to purchase a cup of coffee in about 6 years, however none of your cheap little 17" crts will last much past 5 years forcing you to reinvest and screwing up tour problem. Did anyone postulate the employees turning off the unused monitors, or are we to assume they operate 24/7 like most idiotic firms do? In five years time your company will be focused on something entirely different, the bean counter won't work there any more, and you will be accused of frittering away valuable time concerning yourself with these details when there is work to be done. The minute significance between the actual power supply draw of a crt 2" different in size will be measured in pennies, and then convered to Kilowatt Hours, and then forgotten as bad idea. Did we mention how much the new crts cost, how they are to be purchased with freight and tax, financing or not? Did we factor in the disposal cost of the older replced crts? Has anyone said lcd flat screens out loud in this process???

SIR! I respectfully beg to differ with you!

I am already accused of frittering away my time. And quite rightly. I'm willfully frittering it right now, in fact.

I expect - no I demand - an immediate apology posted in this forum.

Thank you.

Respectfully, don't hold your breath.

Electoman is a gentleman, and would never knowingly insult anyone, and he sure didn't insult you here.

Why don't you register, so we'll know who's talking. In some circles here, "guest" is lower than whale shite.

Oh, and it helps to have "thick skin" to play in CR4. Because if you wrong on something, many will let you know about it. With good humor, and respect.

I think you missed my (silly) point to the OP, not Electroman.

Furthermore, I'll have you know that I have OFTEN been compared favorably to a wide variety of fecal excrement, of both marine and land animal origin. And I'll warn you sir not to inquire about my skin ever again. Unlesss you're willing to put some money up front. Then we'll talk.

Oh, I get it now. But see, that's the problem with being "guest". I thought I was replying to the OP.

You should register. Did you know you get $$$$ from GlobalSpec with every good answer?

Thats okay for you, but somebody broke in and stole all the GA's we had stored up for vacation. Now I'll have to spend it in Afars and Isis instead of Tahiti!

???? Well there went1 minute of my life down the drain. What is the topic of this discussion? Something to do with CRTs, power usage, corporate accountants and a cup of coffee is all i could gather. I believe post like the one that started this are good examples of why mothers in the 60s and 70's should have avoided hallucinagenic drugs during pregnancy.

No, we don't need a topic or an idea of what's going on, but it would help...maybe

Disposal of electronic equipment in the European Union is covered by the WEEE Directive.

Go on, I'll bite! So what's the WEEE Directive? I can't keep up with all the different directives flying about! Every year there's more!
