Measuring Coal Flow

What will be the suitable flow meter for measurement of PF Coal Flow in a Power Plant with Line size 450 mm(ID)?

I dont want any mass or Volumetric measurement.

Mass flow.

Volumetric flow.

Measurement of PF Coal flow from Mill to Boiler through Feed pipes is to be done using non-conventional techniques like electrostatic,microwave etc

The original post states that mass flow and volume flow are not to be measured. It doesn't state what is to be measured!

The technique comes afterwards!

Measurement of particle/coal flow i.e. I have to measure how many tons of coal going inside the Boiler in an hour.

Is it your objective to measure particles flow count? What then is the carrier/transport medium? Also is this line vertical or horizontal?

Yes.I have to measure how many tons of coal going inside the boiler in an Hour. The transport medium is Air. This line is Vertical.

Rate of drop in weight of the stockpile is the most reliable method.

Rate of arrival of vehicles laden with coal and measurement of their loads is another.
