Nuts and Bolts - RH and LH Threads

Hi i want to ask one question regarding Bolt&Nut threads.For example suppose i have bolt in RH thread and i want to fit it with nut so i need LH type thread or RH type thread.Please clarify

Hi guru,

I am not joking yaa,it happens in my company one my designer raised in this question regards support drawings.I convey the message to him if RH NUTand RH BOLT only fit with each other.He is not accepted then i decide to post my question via CR4.But its looks like joking i am serios man,its not joking thing .I know that its enginnering forum that whay i posted otherwise i cant.Ok bye.Rightnow i dont have bolt and Nut with my hand otherwise i can show that person how it is fit.

It is not possible to screw a right-handed thread and a left-handed thread together. Right-handed bolts will only fit right-handed nuts.

Left-handed threads are uncommon and have specialised uses. For example, the threads on the fueL on gas/oxygen cutting equipment have a Left-handed thread, so the fuel and oxygen connections cannot be crossed.

Another example of the appropriate use of both right- and left-turn threads is the turnbuckle.
