Remove everything else. What's left is a vacuum.

If you want a more useful answer, please indicate how hard you need the vacuum to be, how rapidly you need to attain that pressure and what volume you need to evacuate. Any other information you can give may help in getting you a sensible response.

Place a cover with a Vacuum Gauge in the position over your lawn mower engine carburetor intake while it is running and you will see a Vacuum Pressure at the Gauge before the engine dies due to lack of atmospheric air.

You can also see an explanation on Vacuum at this web site in Chapter 1 starting in page 5.

Look in the Basic Book.

If the vacuum is related to free energy try this.

If the system volume is small, several gallons or less, and primarily used for home experimentation, connect the suction tube of a used refrigerator compressor to the system and turn on the compressor. It will do a passable job of creating a vacuum.

Another approach used industrially is to install one or more water aspirator jets. The jet can be sized to evacuate a large system or a small one at fairly high rate; the vacuum will be limited to about 23 mm of Hg, the vapor pressure of water.

Mechanical vacuum pump systems can achieve hard vacuum in large systems if you have the $$$ to pay for the equipment.

Fill container with steam, seal the container and then cool it! That will create a vacuum! It won't be a perfect vacuum but it may be just what you need!

As you'll no doubt discover, Mr. T. Brain is a tricky one!

Hello capblanc, I'm on the Cabo de Gata by Almeria! But England is in my heart always! Unfortunately, it rains too much so I'm here!

According to the British Railways Rule Book 1950, the signal to create vacuum is given by the Guard, giving the Driver:

  • by day, a vertical movement up and down of the fist above shoulder height
  • by night a red handsignal moved vertically up and down above shoulder height.
