Glue rubber to metal

08/26/2008 2:31 PM

Hi,

Can someone tell me if it is possible to glue rubber to metal? I am currently designing something to hold a PDA. I want the metal to clip around the PDA and stretch(rubber or silicon or whatever suitable material) fit snug around it. Therefore:

1. First is it possible to glue the two materials?

2. What type of rubber do I need?

3. What type of glue do I need?

4. Will it be suitable for a manufactured product?

5. Can someone tell me of a manfacturer that I can contact?

Can you please help?

Evo-stik Impact adhesive would do the job (usual disclaimer).

Try these people. I know that at one time they made adhesives to bond rubber to metal for automotive engine mounts.
