high viscous pumps

which brand of pump will be the best for pumping cocoa masse(liqour)under extreme conditions. i worked in a cocoa processing factory in nigeria and the rate at which the pumps are getting packed up is alarming.we use gear pump (MP14,23,34,43). somebody help me!!!!!

Try a GlobalSpec search, or a google search for "sludge pump" or "slurry pump".

Talk to some manufacturers/suppliers. If you specify your needs, and what they supply is not fit for purpose, they'll have to come & take it away & give you the money back - possibly with compensation.

Positive displacement pump. try AlfaLaval (TriClover) website.

Lobe pumps are sometimes used to pump strawberry jam, among other highly viscous things. They are positive displacement pumps, and therefore the downstream pipework requires careful consideration during the HazOp Study.

Welcome Olorioko, never tried to pump cocoa. what is its viscosity and what is the failure mode of the pumps?
