Are you asking about protecting the exterior of the building or are you asking about protecting the internal wiring?

Dear Guest,

You have to conduct lightning risk assesment. That is the first step. I would refer you to BS 6651

Please note that the refered BS 6651 has been withdrawn and replaced with IEC 62305. It is termed as BSI BS EN 62305.

Here 1st I would like to have a clear Idea about your Question. There are several global standards for protecting the building from lightning. can u pls mention the country. Building Area and its height.

To optimize the cost you can run horizontal cu flat along the parapet of the building and drop the down conductor at some intervel according to the perimeter of the building and finaly terminat to earthpit.

Otherwise now a days lightning masts are available like Erico, etc.. you can suggest that, but it's expensive. That you have to decide according to customer.
