Corrosion of what from what. Why don't you use a pump designed for the product you are pumping?

Dow Corning Chemical, and Rust-Oleum are two manufacturers of epoxy paints that should be able to advise you on the particular formula to use with your particular chemicals. try to contact either of those companies directly. Good luck.

There are plenty of materials that are resistant to different things. Simply select a pump that has wetted parts that are compatible with the fluid being pumped (which is not stated in the original post). The pipeline material can often give guidance:

  • 316L stainless steel with a high polish for foodstuffs and beverages
  • Cast iron for cooling water and many organic non-acids
  • plastics for many acids
  • etc. etc.

Corrosion charts will give details of compatible materials and fluids.

It is most uncommon for the internal surfaces of a puimp to be painted. Epoxy-coated maybe. Paint? Hmmmmm........

I decided to ask our friends , the heros of chemistry ,specially when I read a peom by a chemical eng. and some friends who pointed with the sword crying : is there any question? I hope that I can find agood one who can save us from the stormy waves.
