This sounds like homework to me. Read your course notes or do a web or Wikipedia search for (wait for it) "transformer losses".

A google search of "transformer losses" produced the answer in the first 2 hits.

Have you tried the search "transformer basics", or your local library's electronics section.

Hi, zedorrio!

Try posting your request in the "education" section, where engineers are willing to give you extra guidance on how and why they are used in transformer calculations. Include as part of your posting the section of your homework that tells why you are asking. (e.g. what's the transformer going to be used for? What's its input and output? etc.)

When you post a school question in any other topic thread, it's annoying to some of the folks who blog in them. The 'Education' section was established for this purpose.

Mark
