Piping Material

In refinery there is only two types of welding viz. socket welding for small bore (upto 1.5") & butt welding for large bore(>=2").Why fillet welding is not there ?

It is there, you just did not recognize it.

The "Socket Weld" construction is a "Fillet" weld.

I would like to suggest that you go to www.pipingdesigners.com and then click on the "Training" button (you will see it near the top of the page).

You might want to read all the articles you find there. These will give you a real insight into the basics of piping.
