At what temperatures?

And are there any other constituents?

Actually, counterintuitively, 304L ss is better than 316L in nitric acid ........

............ In general, media that do not corrode Types 302, 304 and 304L, will not attack these molybdenum containing grades. One known exception is highly oxidizing acids such as nitric acid to which the molybdenum-bearing stainless steels are less resistant.

Thanks. This is Great information. 304L is half the cost of 316L.

CounterIntuitive is such a fine expression ....

Passivated SS for all concentrations and temperatures below the boiling point. Al might be OK for 98% strong nitric, but what happens if someone gets water into the tank inadvertently? The corrosion rate for Al in 56% can be measured in miles per hour.

I would also consider plain carbon steel with epoxy or enamel coating.

Consider using polypropylene instead?
