ORTHOGRAPHIC VIEW OF VESSEL

10/11/2008 7:59 AM

Hi Guys,

After designing a vessel in PV-Elite, I would need to use the vessel orthographic view in a word document.

I used to scan the printed PV-Elite view and I used to paste it in as a picture in the word document.

PROBLEM:

1. The scanned view is poor

2. Now my scanner is down

Question:

1. How do I 'export', 'copy' or in any way 'transfer', the vessel orthographic view in PV-Elite to my word document?

Thanks in anticipation of your responses.

No matter what the application, you can virtually always save the entire screen to the clipboard by pressing the "Print Screen" key. Then paste that into Paintbrush (the standard windows accessory) and crop it as you see fit.

Thanks for all the concern.

Even better ALT PrintScreen will capture a window that is active so you might not have to crop it. Very useful.

Thans Pj,

Not all the captured window content is needed in my document. As such, the ability to crop and tailor the exact amount of information fit-for-purpose is necessary.

Comments #1 & #3 by Ken and Galala worked perfectly well. I thank you for your concern.

1. You need to install an "Adobe Acrobat" software, where a new printer shall be added to your printers called "Adope PDF".

2. From PV-Elite, you can select "Print" and select "Adope PDF" then click "Print". A page in PDF format will be created.

3. From PDF page, you can select "Snapshot Tool" to select any part from the image you need and copy it in any file like Word, Excell, ...etc.

I understand in PV Elite, it is possible to save the image in Tiff format. In word file, using 'insert icon' (Insert > Picture > From File) you can bring the a Tiff image straight.

Hi Yesyen,

I've tried "to save the image in Tiff format" but without success. If it's no bother, would you pls. guide me on the steps necessary to do that. I really appreciate your care.

Meanwhile, comments #1 & #3 by ken and Galala worked perfectly well in solving the problem.

I have it as a local adage that " It is wise to own two houses, for, in case of fire, one may still have the other to sleep in"

also for those who do a lot of graphic arts. and screen capturing.. there is a genre of programs that are specifically designed to do this.. one program I used to use from win95 to win98 days was called "Clip'N'Save".. was an excellent program for capturing images directly from the screen to file, with coordinate feedback, etc.

http://www.dynalinktech.com/html/index.html

also related was a genre of programs for multiple clipboard items.. very good for filling out multiple forms.. or whatever..
