Dear Mohamed

Mainly, you have to determine the value of the following (the conditions of your case):

1-The flow rate.

2-The fluid you transfer.(viscosity,temp,allowable solids,toxic,expensive ...etc).

3-Pulsating (or non) discharge.

4-NPSH

5-Head to be pumped to.

6-The allable noise.

7-The possibility of running dry.

8-Expensive or cheap one.

please ,visit these sites:

You must also take into consideration suction lift or head.

Dear Mr.AlyBadway,

I want to supplement the following points in addition to your Points:

1. Horizontal Split Casing/Vertical Type to be decided.

2. Priming Method/Flooded Suction to be decided.

3. Mechanical Seal is required or not.

4. Cavitation Possibility to be known and measure to be taken to avoid it.

5. Material Selection of Pump Construction to be decided.

Thanks,

I have sold many pumps over the years for many different applications. I remember talking to a young engineer a few years back. I handed him my card. He told me that he didn't know much about pumps and I told him "Everything you need to know is right there on that card." My advice to you is to get with a reputable pump sales engineer and he will direct you to the type, size, etc. of pump you need.
