project related to ships.

01/09/2009 12:41 PM

Hi, My name is Aamer. I am a 3rd yr mechanical engineering student. I want to do a project which is related to ships, as i want to pursue a career in Merchant navy after my graduation. This will help me understand the ships better. I am planning to do a small project, not big and expensive.

Also if u could help me with other sites and blogs, which would help me in gathering more knowledge about ships, and their working.

Hello Aamer,

It would be better to register with CR4 than to list your email address. Spiders crawl such information, and the result is unwanted email. CR4 has a private messaging system that you can use. Plus, you're more likely to get an answer as a registered member.

Hope you'll join us.

Hi, Aamer!

There are at least 11 Marine Engineer members of CR4 (and, I suspect, more than that, judging from the range of expert opinions from some of the correspondence in here). Marine Engineers and other Naval Architects design ships.

[To find them quickly, click on my Marine Engineer logo and then scroll down to "Marine Engineer". Click on the number 11.]

Joining CR4 as a new member, Mechanical Engineering Student or Professional Engineer, is free.

After you join, go to the Education Section and post your question. You may also go to the list of Marine Engineers and email all 11 at once with the question.

Good luck with your inquiry. Quite a few Marine Engineers began as Mechanical Engineers, and vice-versa. And quite a few Mechanical Engineers maintain a lively interest in Ship design because it is a fascinating study.
