Dependencies and characterisics for Figaro gas sensors

02/01/2009 3:14 PM

Hi guys!

I'm about to use Figaro sensors (TGS 4161 for CO2 and TGS 2442 for CO) in an important project at school and I need more precise data on how to calculate the actual concentration they measure.

In their datasheets, there are two small charts that show the dependencies, just that not all the parameters are included and it would be sooo much better to have all the values in a table, rather than guessing some of them of a picture.

So please if someone used them before and has that information, send it over!

Thanks a lot!

Patricia

P.S. Oh, and asking the manufacturer would not be an option because their rep in my country has really high prices so I'll have to go to another supplier. Complicated story...

Hi Patricia

Have a look at the TGS 822 (Methane, CO . . ) maybe the graph is clearer.

Patricia,

Welcome to CR4. In most gas sensors, there is a fair amount of variation from sensor to sensor. The charts would be a very rough indication of their performance. The charts are small (and often use log scales) because that is likely a reflection of the accuracy.

In general, these sensors must be calibrated with actual gas to get accurate results. They also drift, and may have to be be recalibrated fairly often.
