Go to Youtube and they have a couple of videos on packing machines that will help you. I've designed a packing machine for half-roll pack biscuit packing 120 pcs/min. The R&D is completed and the first machine is going next 10 days to be followed by another 23 nos.

High speed chocolate packing?

Really?

This isn't some set up for a Beavis and Butthead type joke, is it?

Maybe, but it does contain alot of videos on various type of high speed packing : biscuit/tissue papers/envelopes etc., + carton & palletizing etc. You will get a fair idea to develop your own. What types of chocolates packing you are interested in? could you describe a bit in detail.

I am packing CADBORY FIVE STAR. 150 mm length, 40 mm width and weights about 35g. Its already wrapped and coming in conveyor in one orientation. My thing is to put in a carton of about 50 pieces. Thats it....

Its easy(considering I did over 2 months of study/downloading data on conveyors/ downloading videos from Youtube etc) as they come out wrapped out of the Wrapping Machine they should be on a separate 6" wide conveyor with a photoelectric counter. There should be a Pneumatic cylinder which gets the signal after every 50 counts to push/drop each 50-set it into the box.

Mind you it is not easy as stated since as you work on it you come across other problems:

· 2 chocolate wrapper sticking together(another photoelectric to sense this and shoot off the line or open a chute to collect this)

· Manual over-ride in event your auto-system develops some fault

· Box opening & delivery system synchronized with each 50-set of chocolates incoming

· Main conveyor synchronized with the Wrapping machine

I just manufactured a similar with half-roll (12 biscuits) packs needed to be automatically packed 6/box with 3 x 2 tiers. The box would be opened manually and put on the conveyor. The wrapping machine taking out single pack at 120/min to be automatically counted & stacked 6/box.

The opening of boxes and taping will be done manually or if required made automatic in future.

On 20th., this month the first conveyor to be delivered & commissioned and work on 23 similar to be delivered. My fingers are crossed.

I regret that cannot be possible because all drawings/photos/3-D animation & videos are confidential data of my Client and I do not even share this with any similar Client requiring the same identical unit/s. There are times when competitive Clients get angry with me and refuse me the job but later on return back to be because they now know that any of their system/s is in safe hands.

OK. Go to www.Youtube.com and type on Search "Tissue paper packing". Click enter.

Watch that video carefully you will get the idea. As that video is being played on your right will be similar videos. keep searching and you will come across over 2 dozens. Search Google for books on conveying system. You can also ask "Guest" via CR4 mailbox. he will recommend you also on sites and places for technical books .

Within 6-8 weeks you will have enough data to design your own.

Now note: Getting it manufactured without a setup or your own workshop/workers will be the difficult part. i do not have this problem for my partner has a full fledged mechanical workshops and manufacturers all types of conyeying system + PLC automation. So we had no problem in R & D.
