If your process fluid is solid at room temp, I would damn sure as hell use a diaphragm!

Please state the material and either its design flowrate or the line size. The technique options to be used depend upon that.

Does anyone still use differential pressure across an orifice to derive flowrate these days?

Go for diaphragm Seal :

(1)If the process is corrosive

(2)Process contains suspended solids and may plug the impulse piping

(3)Process medium may freeze or solidify in the tx. or impilse piping.
