What connection does it have, USB?

Have you switched it on while connected to the PC, in camera mode?

Did you get a CD with software? Have you installed it?

Yes, it's USB, It can't be switched on in camera mode whilst its connected to the pc, Yes, I did get software CD with it, but it is only so the camera can transfer the pictures, and it is installed.

Don't worry too much, I was just wondering if there was some software somewhere out there which can enable digi cameras to work as webcams.

Maybe I have been just lucky, I have had 3 digital cameras and all could do that.....but in fact such webcameras are sooooooo cheap nowadays, upwards of €10, that its not worth worrying about that much I feel.....just buy a webcamera, ebay has plenty....some work in almost dark conditions, there are others that will automatically follow you (track) around the room if you move about.....

Hi Bondy,

I read the specs and it seems like the answer is *no*.

from my experience with other cameras, you might be able to do, but since the camera will "think" it is idle (it's not taking pics, it's not taking video), it will shut of automatically. so basically, it's still not a webcam.

besides, that is a very expensive webcam, with its own source of power. better use a conventional webcam which has more useful features.

HTH!
