Water Pump - Motor Turns Off

hi everybody,i have a 380 vts 4.00k ws grundfoss motor which am using with a submersible bore hole pump.the motor starts well after pumping water for about ten minutes.the motor draw more current and a 45amps.three pole mcb turns off.members what might be the problem?

Does the well empty to the point where the pump suction draws air?

Hi PW,

I can see it overheating if no cooling water,would expect sensor to shut down pump but not see extra amps being drawn.

Possibly bearings overheating causing O/L due to binding, or pump sucking up silt.

How many times has this pump been used with this problem? 5 or 6 or all year many times? bearings would have collapsed if it has been many times I would have thought.

A bit more info please.

What sort of "head" are you pumping to? If its a tank, do you have an automatic valve anywhere?

thanks ,am pumping the water to a trough for animals.the flow rate is ok as per the available manual .the pump operates for only ten minutes and it goes off.when i replace the motor with another one i donot get any promblem, i really want to know what might be wrong.

Simply not enough info. Start with a picture and a technical run down of the pump and the way its connected to both water & power......
